20 June 2024A hyperactive child is one whose motor activity is increased and disordered, accompanied by impulsivity, aggressive reactions and attention problems that interfere with school performance. It is estimated that hyperactivity affects between 3% and 6% of school-age children.
The causes are neurological, but not yet fully understood. Mainly a lack of serotonin and an excess of dopamine.
The more we do sport, the more our serotonin levels rise, hence the importance of physical activity in this condition.
Numerous studies have shown the positive effects of chiropractic treatment, which acts directly on the central nervous system by stimulating the first cervical vertebrae and the cranium.
Chiropractic adjustments:
- reduce the child’s discomfort and pain,
- improve children’s concentration and learning ability, and help them to achieve much better marks in their work
- enable children to be calmer, more relaxed and sleep better
- help reduce or even stop the use of medication (ritalin) in some cases.
